whatever is there in /etc/ppp/pppoe.conf against DNSTYPE, change as below.
DNSTYPE=NOCHANGE
also /etc/ppp/options remove peerdns
also if configured using tkpppoe, then put PEERDNS=no in 
/etc/ppp/rp-pppoe-gui/xxxx.conf file where xxxx is name given to pppoe 
connection.
Any of this will help depending on configuration
