hey guys,
i have recently installed 2.6.3.Everything works fine other than X.I had X
configured properly for 2.4.24 and it run beautifully. But when i boot up
in 2.6 and hit start X it error out saying it cant find device /dev/psaux.
so i read someplace that i shud change that line to /dev/input/mice.That
did not help either.I then changed it to /dev/input/mouse0 but to no
avail.The mouse protocol i have described in XF86Config-4 is imps2.It is a
regular serial mouse.
I am running Debian Sid and would really like it if someone could give me
a pointer as to how i can make this work.I really want to shift to 2.6
As a sidenote could someone tell me if using the kernel-image from the
debian mirrors is a good idea?I have tried to compile 2.6.4(and 2.6.2) but
everytime i do so...i get a kernel panic error saying it cant mount root
FS and that i shud attach a root= boot option.I have an ext3 FS and i have
compiled in support for it in the Kernel.I was getting the same error when
i had an ext2 FS and this is why i upgraded to ext3.
well if someone could point me in the right direction...that'd be great.
thanks
