If the version of kde changes between distros, then there may be problem. For example mail dir is Mail upto kde 3.3 and .Mail for kde 3.4. There may be other config files also which may conflict.
Hint 1: Try and avoid apps that keep changing their config file/ directory layout with every new minor versions. After all, there are choices. Hint 2: Keep all your distributions with updated/consistent version of the apps that you use. Hint 3: For newbies, try and avoid sharing common directories across distributions unless you know what you are doing. I never had problems with dot-files being shared across multiple distributions (with my setup) so far :-) -- Chandrashekar Babu. http://www.chandrashekar.info/ ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is sponsored by: Discover Easy Linux Migration Strategies from IBM.
