Hi!
I've logged a session with the 'passive' option to pppd, which makes it
wait for
the first CONFREQ. Maybe there is a way to get a more verbose output
from pppd?

I've also added the output from irdadump -d -x -s200 in the same
attachment.
It seems like once the phone transmits a CONFREQ packet the ISP goes
completely silent.

(please see attachment 'logs'!)

I also logged some error messages from irattach and from 'modprobe' when
pppd starts.
(can't find module char-major-108). I can't find a corresponding module
(it's ppp related) and I think I've enabled everything ppp-related when
I compiled the kernel.

(please see attachment 'logs2'!)

Did you people that have ppp working with IRDA compile the ppp support
as a module or
into the kernel directly?

Is there anything one has to do before launching pppd?
setserial xxx ?
stty -F /dev/irnine xxxx ? etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

/Thomas
