The troubles are *very* strange - and difficult to debug.  Looks
like other parts of the code are trowing trash onto sensible data
memory chunks of properties.c ...  I've checked and this didn't
happen before libkarmaHg103 (re-implemented fdb support).  I keep
searching...

That's a good idea.  The IDs should include also the serial
number (the same as in ~/.openrio/pearl-<serialNumber>/ and the
one obtained by the karma_helper script create_device-settings
and stored in karma2/device_settings).

However, for the fileinfo, I think there was some PEARL policy
which we might break with this addition.  May be Franky can add
some comments.
