A little bit more information might be useful...
- What version of XFree86 are you running?
- What video chipset do you have?
- Have you successfully got X to run with an external monitor?
- Have you successfully got the standard XF86_SVGA server running?
Also, if you post your /etc/XF86Config file, things may be somewhat easier to
deal with.
