HI,
I am facing a probelm while installing a modem(RH6.0)
the following is the error message :

Depends on your system. On RedHat, /etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit does:
dmesg > /var/log/dmesg
which dumps out the kernel ring buffer to /var/log/dmesg after startup.
It's unlikely the output file would get changed, but take a look.
