You probably didn't compile the APM stuff into the kernel. Turn on
'Advanced Power Management BIOS support' and 'Power off on shutdown', at
least, from General Setup in the linux source config.

The math functions are just as much a part of the standard library as
the printf() family or anything else. If everything else is linked in by
default, the math library should be, too. If you need another math lib,
you'll have to tell the compiler you want a different one (just like
you'd tell it if you wanted a different library for printf()).

Why should I have to give extra arguments if all I want to use is C
(well, extra flags besides -Wall -ansi -pedantic-errors, I mean)?

Hello,

Since a couple of days, I m watching TV on my Linux system. It works
good in a window (400x300), but in full screen mode (800x600) It looks
bad. (Especially fast movements).

Full screen under windows95 is OK.
I want to use full screen mode, what I have to do?

System:
* Redhat Linux 6.0
* Kernel 2.2.5-15
* Hauppauge TV/Radio-card model 419 (BT878 chip set)
* S3 virge DX video card 4mb
* Celeron 433 Processor * Assus P2B AGP Motherboard I hope someone can
help me.
* TV appilcations Kwintv and xawtv

I see what you mean, Michel. I installed the binaries first, and it was
quite easy. Use the glibc version and netscape's instructions using their
install program. Only thing was that I had a bus error after installing,
just like I had with 4.07. I had to use a fix that gave me a missing
library and gave me a script to use to set things up for netscape. You may
not have that problem. Hopefully not.

Try modprobe instead of insmod.

You may want to try configuring X to run at a very low resolution. If
you ran at 400x300 then your image will fill the entire screen.

Hi guys;

I have a red hat linux 6 on my machine.
I recently instaled f90 Version 2.2(260) compiler from NAG.
I am trying to compile a f90 code that works fine on other machines.
It makes the object file initdns.o.
But when it try to link it with the library that I created, i.e.
/home/mohseni/mohseni/Br/FFTLibHome/libgpfa.a
it gets into trouble.
It seems that I have some linking problem. This is the message I get

 Kami > make -f Makeinit
f90   -o initdns initdns.o /home/mohseni/mohseni/Br/FFTLibHome/libgpfa.a

/usr/local/lib/f90/libf90.a(open.o): In function `__NAGf90_open':
open.o(.text+0xc77): undefined reference to `_fxstat'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [initdns] Error 1

Any idea how to fix this.
Please respond to   [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Regards.

I'm thinking about getting a tape backup for my machine running RH 5.2.
I don't know anything about them so I'm looking for suggestions. It
will be for home use to do back-ups once in a while. I'm looking for
somthing that's known to hook up easy, run on redhat with no problems

Also, do they have internal and external? I guess external would be
better?

Surely you can't simply compare the two directly at all - feature-wise
anyway.

Miami might have loads built-in, but pppd just sticks to what it is good
at and allows the user to choose what features they need by using other
excellent packages in combination.

Isn't this obvious, or am I missing something somewhere?

Well, since nobody seems to have answered, I'll post a partial solution.

My drawing program Sketch comes with a command line utility sk2ps that
converts files in all the formats Sketch can read, including ai, to
postscript. However, Sketch's AI import filter is not complete, so it
may not work correctly for all of your files.

Also, sk2ps only produces postscript. To create e.g. gif-files you could
use ghostscript to render the postscript into raster images.

Hi everyone...I am a long time redhat user. I recently installed Redhat 6.0 on
a dual processor machine at work. By default it comes up with Gnome and
Enlightment, which are new for me (fvwm2). My problem is the session gets
logged out after a while. Is this some simple config problem (Gnome,
Enlightenment, X, some daemon that runs in 6.0 by default).

I've searched the FAQs, deja, etc...and the only thing I found was in RedHat's
bugzilla "Mandrake" one of the Enlightenment developers claimed to have fixed a
session termination bug...

Any ideas?
