Hm. I've had trouble with CorelCentral (it just won't run), but the
rest seems OK. Though it did first throw fits when I had no printer
support programs installed (lpr, lpq, lpc, lprm).

There are a billion stories in the Naked City. From the pen of
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>,
Minko Markov <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> this is one of them :

> The problem is resolved. It is not libjpeg.*
> I had an old "~/.mozilla" directory. Once it
> was deleted, netscape6 ran.

Hmm. I had to download libjpeg.62 - on my SuSE 6.3 system it didn't want
to update so I had to force it. The Netscape installation is about 35 megs
(so much for small!) - I kind of wish I knew what was necessary and what's
not. It also seems to be taking a little more CPU and memory - but with
an AMD300 and 64 megs, it's not bad ...

It seemed extremely pokey for the first minute and then speeded right up.
Fonts seem to be better and more readable - no tiny letters on some of the
pages I had been going to. Also a couple of pages that I had to load in
IE5 in Win98 (slap!) because Netscape 4.* couldn't handle them, now seem to
be loading.

It's too early to say much else, but I do wish they'd have come up with a
more compact version for Linux.

I have a full, working linux system on one hard drive and basically want
to make an exact replica of it on another hard drive. I have already
partioned the new hard drive and set up the file systems and swap
partitions. But I don't know a good program to copy, e.g., my old /home
partition to my new /home partition keeping everything intact (symbolic
links, file access dates, etc.) Of course I could just pipe tar into
itself but this seems like a rather cumbersome (and slow!) solution.
Are there any good utilities out there for doing this sort of thing
quickly?

Thanks.

Subject: THE ANSWER TO VIRTUAL POP HERE (RH6)!!!
Date: Fri, 07 Apr 2000 06:30:30 GMT

Guys,

I see a lot of people are wondering how to make virtual POP email work.
Most of us got the DNS right, the sendmail right. The problem that
everyone seems to get stuck on is that you can send email to
[EMAIL PROTECTED] but you cannot retreive your email from 'user'.

1. Take care of DNS. Make sure the virtual domain has an MX recored
pointing back to your main mail server.
===================================================================
EXAMPLE--->  @               IN      MX      10      pointcomm.net.
===================================================================

2. Double check with nslookup: type nslookup virtualdomain.com and make
sure it points to the correct IP address. Also nslookup
ipaddress.of.virtual.domain and make sure that points to fqdn.

3. Setup sendmail. I am assuming that you have setup sendmail to accept
mail for the virtual domain. If not, I'm not going to go into it. Use
LINUXCONF to set it up.

4. This is the point that people screw up. They say they can send mail to
the virtual box but they get "bad login/password" errors trying to
retrieve email from virtual box. That's because you have IPOP3D checking
the main server PASSWD/mail file and directories. So, you will have to
install VPOP3D to handle all your virtual email boxes. The VPOP3D file
comes with RH6.

Enter the following statement into your /etc/inetd.conf file (It might get
wrapped, but it's all on one line):

___start____

pop-3 stream tcp nowait
root /usr/sbin/tcpd /usr/lib/linuxconf/lib/vpop3d /usr/sbin/ipop3d

____end____

*!!!!* If you already have POP-3 server running, just comment (#) the
existing pop-3 statement and copy/paste the one above into inetd.conf file.

5. Restart the inetd services.
$ kill -HUP `cat /var/run/inetd.conf`

6. Done. If done properly all should work. Test out the POP3 email.
Whenever you telnet to your virtual domain's POP3 port you should get
output that says "virtual POP-3 Server...".

I hope this clears a lot of confusion out there. I ran across a lot of
people wanting this info and I was in the same position.

If the two hard disks are identical, you can use "dd". Otherwise, see

This site is designed for Linux newbies. Users can post tips to help

a network in Linux to how to use a SoundBlaster Live in Linux. The site
currently contains very few tips, but with your help it can become the
perfect resource for Linux newbies.

If you have any comments about the website, feel free to email me at

changed the fontpath to display 100dpi before 75dpi etc, and it worked
fine but still not good enough. I want to be able to display truetype

Find the "linux documentation project"'s web page. Search for the mini
how-to on bttv. It quite good - personaly I want a bit more info, cos I
still can't get the TV to work perfectly.

Robie - where do I find fbtv. Will this get me past the grabing problem.
I've tried all the different setting with bttv when I modprobe it, but
the picture still runs slow.

Cheers

Thank you. My main problem is: This machine is assembled from various
