Use the xdosemu command if possible--unless there is a good reason for you
to avoid running in an X-window.

The funny characters you are seeing are extended ASCII "line draw"
characters (which are unsupported in most terminal fonts). These characters
ARE supported by the vga font (found in the dosemu/Xfonts directory, and is
the default font used by dosemu.

If you really need to run in a terminal, try a different font setting for
the terminal itself.

Subject: edit with dosemu

I need some help. I must have something wrong in a config file, or
something else in the setup.

In dosemu, I am trying to use 'edit'. I am gettng the same thing for
RH 6.2 (not X) and for RH 7.1 in a terminal window on X.

1. The background is not blue only. The left and right edges have a
'I' and in the middle are the ':' chars, with other odd chars in the
corners.
2. I use alt-F and Open to start editting. I choose to edit Autoexec.bat.
Now I cannot use alt-F to quit. I must use cntl-C and cls.

Is there a config setting that will change the type of window I am using?

Gary
