Mihai has a good point -- setting the $_term_char_set to "ibm" is very helpful.
Now that I'm playing with DOSemu in a terminal (and the console) I notice the keyboard problem you mention (the alt-keys seem to work sporatically)--What I noticed is that (in EDIT.EXE), Alt-F works whenever there are no open documents. I think the open document is simply consuming the Alt-F, so the root application does not see it. As a workaround: The F10 key will put you in menu-mode, so you can operate the menu without the alt-keys. Close the file you're editing, and you'll see that Alt-F works again. Anyone working on this problem?
