Given that I have exactly the same problem but, regrettably, am much
less competent, I would welcome additional guidance. If it has already
been spelled out somewhere, then a URL will suffice.

This bit is crucially important for me - and I have understood virtually
none of it.

So, perhaps a description of my setup will help.

I have currently a DOS/Windows 98 as a dual-boot setup on drive hda.
Windows 98 has ceased to be of interest, but I have a superb DOS program
(it uses dBase 3, a script and relational database files) that I use
routinely to keeps track of my home finances

My Linux drive - which is loaded most of the time - is hdb.

I have no problem in mounting my hda drive and reading the files on it
while running Linux.

But running the dBase program is another story.

I thought that dosemu might come to the rescue. And I am certain that
it will -once I have discovered how to use it.

So - to get back to the above quote from the comprehensive - but
ununderstood - advice.

What root directory of my hda drive needs to be copied. And where is it
supposed to be copied to? The dosemu drive C:\ or dosemu drive D:\
(reached via "dosemu -home")?

My current dosemu directory contains:

bin
boot.log
conf
dosemu
FDchange.log
freedos
README.bindist
xdosemu
Xfonts

./bin:
dosdebug
dosemu.bin

./conf:
dosemu.conf
dosemurc
global.conf

./Xfonts:
fonts.dir
vga.pcf

I have omitted my /freedos files from my submitted list.

Since I do not have a separate dos710 directory on my DOS/Windows drive,
I am somewhat confused (I do, of course, have the individual files
command.com, io.sys etc).

And the next step is?

SNIP

The details in the above files will be of great help, once I know where
to put it.

All help will be gratefully received.
