Christof, I can read files and run programs in hda1 in dosemu, but I can't write files or delete them. Hda1 is mounted to /win, which is owned by root. If I type chmod 1777 /win, even as root I am told that changing permissions is not permitted. If I remove /win and then recreate it with mkdir -m 1777 /win it has permissions drwxrwxrwt (hope I remembered that correctly), but when I run dosemu I still can't write to hda1. I tried rebooting, but after logging in again I found that the permissions were again lrwxr-xr-x. Soi root isn't omnipotent. Where do we go from here? John
