Hello everyone,
I am new to this list, and I am very glad that it exists! I cannot set up
my modem for the life of me on Red Hat 7.0. I am using a Motorola SM56
linux-compatible modem, and I am trying to get Red Hat to detect that there
is a modem on TTY3 (com port 4), but it is not sensing that there is a modem
installed. I use the ppp dialer and other dialup programs that come with RH
to try and detect the modem. I've re-installed Red Hat in the hope that
will help, but still to no avail. I've tried following the Modem-HOWTO
documentation at www.linuxdoc.org, but nothing seems to work. What are some
common mistakes when setting up a modem with Linux Red Hat?
