Thank you so much everybody, for helping.  I try to use the internet dialup
program that is on the desktop after a RH 7.0 Workstation install, as well
as kppp and two other tools to detect my modem, and they both say that there
is no modem detected.

I typed cat /proc/pci , and here is what I get ( I assume that "unknown
devices" are not supported, and those fully named are?).  P.S., how do I
save a file to a floppy with Linux, and can I read this same file with
Windows?  My machine is a Linux/Windows dual boot, that's why I ask:
