Hi Ted,
KDE is K Desktop Enviroment, which is more than a simple window manager. It
comes with a lot of aplication, including multimedia stuff, a browser, a mail
client, text editors and much, much more. It has support for a lot of
languages. It eats up a lot of CPU time and RAM, but it's only version 1.0. I
had no trouble at all compiling it, and I love the mail client. I always loved
'pine' & could not stand Netscape's mail reader, but this is different. It has
commands very similar to pine: D for deleting the message, etc...
