loadlin

Hello,
I want to use loadlin to start Linux from dos.  I have tried to copy 
the file "vmlinuz..." onto a floppy as per the loadlin Howto,  but an 
error message is returned "cannot copy..." Do I need to change an 
attribute of the file ?  
The bootdisk made during install (RedHat 5.1) works fine (has ppp, 
etc.) but I'd rather boot from the Hard Drive and for me, LiLo is a 
NoGo.
