elm, pine and mutt are excellant mail cleints for the console and seem to
do a good jobs for most everything, just hope into a xterm window and your
set.  Also this is netscape mail for X windows system other than that I
wouldn't know of many, i think there maybe is one just called xfmail or
xmail, never used it though.  Also try searching on freshmeat.net.
