I myself am using Pine.  I love the console interface, as I grew up on
DOS.  I will only use X if I have to do something with a wordprocessor,
because I can't run my DOS wordprocessor in dosemu, and I don't run
anything like that on Linux because I don't know of it.

The latest version of Pine supports both POP3 and IMAP protocols, from
what I've read, and that is good.  I use Pine 4.04, with Red Hat 5.2.
