Well, it's easier than you think. Probably it's already set up if you
start sendmail and apache at boot. BTW, you don't need sendmail running as
a daemon unless you intend to *receive* email delivered directly to your
machine.

It's been a few months since I did a bare install on a RedHat machine so
bear with me. :) SuSE (the distribution I currently use) is a little
different, particularly about web stuff.

The apache configuration file is in /etc/httpd and then I believe conf
then httpd.conf (SuSE is /etc/httpd/htppd.conf, but I recall RedHat having
another layer in there). You may need to set something like the
ServerName.

Quickest and dirtiest way is to, using a web browser, http://localhost and
see if you get anything.

If not, log in as root for one terminal session and do:

tail -f /var/log/messages

(this will watch the end of the file and update when it changes)

Then, if apache isn't started (you can check with: "ps aux | grep httpd",
start it (as root) with httpd. Then look to see if you get any errors.

As for sendmail, the configuration is pretty voodoo and we'd need to know
a little more about your setup.
