I wonder if there have been any studies on the effect of using Verbose
mode while using tar. I presume this dizziness has been noted as anecdotal
evidence. I don't get dizzy using verbose mode nor does a friend of mine,
although thsi does not deny that others do.

I wonder if there are a range of scrolling speeds which causes the
dizziness. That is, does a P200 or Pentium 2 work too fast for the
strobing effect, i guess it is, to cause problems? If other people get
dizzy using these types of computers perhaps there is another, medical,
problem? ;-)

just some thoughts while i correct my thesis. ;-(
