I can't help with KDE but might be able to give you some PPP advice. In
addition to the PPP configuration that Imagine you've already done, you need
to add the IP addresses of your ISP's DNS servers to your resolver file
(/etc/resolv.conf). You also need to make sure that /etc/hosts includes the
line "multi on".

Beyond that, do you know whether your PPP software is connecting
successfully to your ISP. Can you ping through the connection by IP address?
telnet by address?

If the problem is that your ISP is disconnecting you, you should be able to
find some answers in your logfile (probably /var/log/messages). Look at the
messages from some pppd session that ends in a disconnect and see what they
tell you.

And feef free to follow up with a more detailed posting if you get some of
this information and don't know how to interpret it.
