I have a solution, but it's rather
difficult if you're really new to Linux. You can look at your XF86Config
file, in the /etc directory. Now, the file might not exist, as I had this
same problem just with RedHat Linux. Basically I went into the XConfig
file, and edited out the resolutions I did not want. I also selected a
particular resolution but X ran something entirely different. If you're
still stuck for a solution, I'll take a look at Caldera and record the steps
you'll need to take to set the proper resolutions. It's tedious, but a
good learning experience, so let me know if you're still stuck.
