I am very new to linux and just installed RedHat 5.2 on my
pentium system. No problems at all until I load up x-windows using
startx. The trouble is I get a very low resolution and can only see a
small part of the desktop. Seems strange to me since in xconf I set the
display to give preference to 1024x768 in all colour modes. Also I
specified that I should not have a virtual desktop. Does anyone know why
this might be?
I have upgraded my version of Xfree86 from v3.3 to v3.3.3.1 so
my Matrox Millenium G200 8Mb AGP card has support. This upgrade seemed to
be successful.
Also sometimes my MS Intellimouse is very erratic in X-windows
and then I cannot exit...is there a key combination to shut down X-windows
(alt-F4 equivalent)?
I have read loads of howto's and FAQs so please do not flame
me! Thanks in advance.
