Richard should respond to this to be sure ... but I think this address isn't
a real address that everyone can use, but some sort of internal address
rewrite done at Richard's site to accommodate specific relaying needs.
Certainly I've always seen my postings to this address bounce (when I
accidently use it by replying to one of Richard's postings).

It's a soft link - a hard link looks the same as a regular directory entry
(it *is* a regular directory entry, in fact) while a soft link always shows
"lrwxrwxrwx" in an "ls -l" listing.

To change the link, first remove the old one, then make the new one. Adapt
this example to your situation:

rm /dev/cdrom
ln -s /dev/whateveritis /dev/cdrom
