Hm... First off, I would recommend that you upgrade your Red Hat 5.1
installation to Red Hat 6.0 :). Red Hat 6.0 has a substancially better
user interface collection (there is KDE for the hard core Windows users,
and GNOME for those who like the ability to customize the UI, and make
things look really cool :). I've run them both on a 486, and they both
operate at about the speed of Windows (which is pretty slow) on the 486,
but on faster machines, they really do take off. I run GNOME on my P133,
and it's good ;).
After you get the new interfaces installed, you can start doing things
witht the interface -- system configuration, package installation, etc.,
and email, AIM, ICQ, and many other things :).
For AIM, GAIM is a great tool. For ICQ, I haven't tried anything, but
I've heard that licq is good, and I'm going to try gnomeicu, which is
supposedly based on licq. :) Anyway, you'll have a blast :).
If you need a Red Hat 6.0 CD, you can get them from Redhat.com,
Cheapbytes.com, or from us, ADK Computers.
Have fun with Linux!
