What with Gnome:
You need (in that order, but rpm may take account of that itself):
glib - gtk+ - (imlib?) - gnome
I don't know the actual names of the packages, because I update through
compiling the packages myself...
For imlib jou may need libjpeg, libpng, et al.
rpm should keep track of dependencies
