Yeah, two more.
1. Look in your logs on the ftp server host and see what it says is going
on. Exactly where depends on your syslogd setup (as defined in
/etc/syslogd.conf). Look for reports from both ftpd (in.ftpd? depends) and
tcpd .
2. Check /etc/hosts.deny and see if there is anything there that restricts
ftp access.
I'm leaving out a lot of other possibilities because I think they are
eliminated by your being able to ftp to localhost.
