Hi,

I'm stuck, please help... FTP - just hangs....

When I try to ftp to the Linux box...
This is what I get:
STATUS:> Connecting to 192.168.127.1
STATUS:> Connecting to 192.168.127.1 [ip = 192.168.127.1]
STATUS:> Socket connected. Waiting for welcome message...

Then just hangs.

I can use ncftp on the Linux box to ftp it self.... (ncftp 192.168.127.1)
and it tell me that I am loged into
(GL.glassline.net FTP sever) guest login ok...

I also can telnet to the Linux box and netscape can also access it.

I could not find anything about "ftp, ftpd or in.ftpd" in any of the logs.

host.allow
ALL: ALL
in.talkd: ALL
in.ntalkd: ALL
in.fingerd: ALL
in.ftpd: ALL

And /etc/hosts.deny is empty.

/var/log/xferlog is empty.

I opened up a file called /etc/logrotate.d/ftpd and found this....

/var/log/xferlog {
     # ftpd doesn't handle SIGHUP properly
     nocompress
}

I don't think that this is what it should be.... so, does anyone know how
to fix this?

Can anyone help?

Thanks
Jim
