I have a working ppp link, but it gives lots of errors (now about 300
errors for 5000 packets). This is since I bought a new modem. The old one
was an internal 33600, the new one is an external 56K modem. Now I know
that it isn't a good idea to hang a 56k modem off a 38400 bps 16450 serial
port, so this is probably the cause.
The result is a really unreliable link, with very variable speeds. Will
upgrading the serial port solve the problem or do I have other problems ?
