My 3Com Fast EtherLink XL NIC (3C905B-TX) locks on RedHat 6.1 during
/sbin/ifup (where the boot scripts say, "Bringing up interface eth0"). It
just sits their for a long time. I've booted into single user mode and
insmod works fine, then when I
#/sbin/ifup eth0
It just sits there. The card works fine in 6.0, and 5.x.
I may switch back to an Intel Pro/100+ Management adapter. Have you guys
seen those new intel cards? They're small! The controller on the board is
smaller than my thumbnail. But they're high-quality and fast IMO.
