Now lets get this one cleared up;

There "were" problems reported in 2.2.xx kernels, but only up untill
around 2.2.7. Even now there are some developers who say that they could
not reproduce the symtoms reported by other users of any one spesific
kernel version, all evidence of any problems have now been put to one using
the worng utilitys in one way or another, i am quoting mails i have
personaly read in the Linux-kernel-mailing list.

The problem was (as far as i have read) only to be reaped on on SMP
machines, like most of the problems with 2.2.xx kernels.

2.2.12 and 2.2.13 have been given the all clear by Alan Cox the person who
coordinates the 2.2.xx kernel series Alan has said that if there are no big
objections then the presant kernel, 2.2.14pre12 will go to Linus for
approval, which means there could be an offical release of 2.2.14 soon.

Now if anyone uses 2.2.5 (the -#) makes no differance, like in 2.2.5-15
then the chances of file corruption are around 10000000 to 1, on a normal
machine, I find those very long odds, so i would not go placing the blame
for any problems one might have on that unless you have the pointers to
prove it.
