in actuallity - 2.2.5-X is ithe kernel i have that came with Redhat 6.0

not blaming - simply pointing out that i see some mysterious going ons
with 2.2.5 kernel that i did not see with 2.0.34 (i think)

i have not traced the problem to anything specific - i guess i'm just
1 in a million :)

and if it's any help - i don't have (cant afford) SMP

point is - if there is a distinct possibility of something causing a problem
- fix/change it.
