Just when I thought I had the upper hand. . .
I'm running RH6.x on a 400 intel machine with enlightenment.
I got the basic X config lined out just the way I wanted it.
I turned the machine off to put a modem in the slot. (my next project)
When I turned it back on lilo changed. Before when lilo started I got a
screen with the options to Keep Configuration, Configure or Do Nothing.
Now those options don't appear. I had been choosing "Do nothing". What
did I do?
And it gets better.
I didn't think much of it since all seemed to be running fine. When I
tried to start X via "startx" X choked giving me the message the mouse
configuration was wrong. I tried mouseconfg but to no avail. I tried
xf86config and it was useless also. I wonder if its a conflict with the
modem. Does Linux suffer from those like the DOS machines? There are no
jumpers on the modem. I don't think its a Winmodem but I didn't check
the list YET. Lilo did detect it at startup. I saw it report a k56 flex.

Maybe someone could help with the first situation (lilo options) while I
check the list and pull the modem out and try it without.
Feel free to offer suggestions about modems too!

Thanks

Arnie
