Here's the situation. I have a RH6.1 machine (Orion) that is hooked up to my school's
network. I have a win98
machine (Chamelion) hooked up to Orion. I have internet sharing working, but I want to
be able to see the
school's network in my win98 network neighborhood through Orion. My school is on a
10.x.x.x network with it's
own DHCP with netmask 255.255.255.0 and my network is on a 192.168.2.x network with
netmask 255.255.255.0
Is this feat possible?
I tried putting my linux server as the wins server in the wins tab on win98 (couldn't
find out if school had wins
servers), but it didn't work. The school network workgroup is the same as my private
network; I can also ping the school network from my win98 box (I'm able to ip-masq to
the internet). Is there anything else I need to configure besides /etc/smb.conf (wins
support = yes) to enable wins?
Thanks for the help
