I am trying to compile a large program in a fresh install of RH 6.0. I didn't
realize that I hadn't originally installed a compiler, so I had to go back and
do that. I installed all rpm's of the ecgs* variety from the CD. The script
that sets up the compile does some testing before it jumps into the job. It is
aborting with an error complaining that gcc can't create executables, although
it is finding gcc. I did all the rpm installs as root, and I am running the
compile as root. Since I am new to this compiling bit, I don't know where to
look for the problem.
TIA
