Would you like to explain how one gets a new kernel from "ftp.kernel.org"
AFAIK one only gets the "kernel source" from ftp.kernel.org then once it is
installed on ones system one must "configure and compile ones own kernel".
Just exachtly what do you mean.???

No the origanal question asker seems NOT to be doing that, he has been
given advise by myself and Ray, but he still seems to be missing the point.
