boot process stopping at eth0.....

i configured  sound card in my system with  sndconfig command in su mode in
/user/sbin directory .
  now when i reboot my system it's halting at 
 Bringing up interface eth0 .
It s not  giving OK or FAILED.
what could have the problem....
