Well ... is the HP LJ 4 Plus different in any important way from the HP LJ
4M Plus? I have the latter printer here, and it has worked flawlessly with
Linux for some years now. The HP JetDirect manual has a detailed section on
needed printcap entries. So -- Miko, post your printcap entry if you'd like
help with it. Here is the two I use (for a connection via the printer's
JetDirect card - a parport connection would be somewhat different) --
separate entries for text (ascii) and postscript (raw) output:
