Hello,

You could ask Dell to replace the fakeraid controller by a SAS6/iR which
is a SAS controller that can do RAID 0 and 1. We had good experiences
with that controller and CentOS 5.3. Haven't had an r210 yet so I can't
comment on how it would work there.

There is a fakeraid driver for linux, it's called 'dmraid', but it only
supports a limited number of adapters. I've only used it successfully
twice yet on old-ish servers. I don't know if it supports the PERC 'Sxx'
series.

HTH,

Robert

        Dear All,

Thanks for revert on this , if we want to get other SAS
controller, which brand and model that can recommended for Linux system.
This time round we would like some real HW RAID instead fake RAID.

I don't belive Linux does not supporrt software RAID, it should
have it own software driver from chipset manufacturer in this case it is
LSI, do you think this workable too
