>> 2 channels of memory went AWOL I'm curious which two channels died? https://sp.ts.fujitsu.com/dmsp/Publications/public/wp-nehalem-memory-performance-en.pdf -----Original Message----- From: Brent Kimberley Sent: Tuesday, November 6, 2018 1:08 PM To: '[email protected]' <[email protected]> Cc: [email protected] Subject: [Linux-PowerEdge] Problem in memory configuration PowerEdge Hey Linda. Before you get started, check that all twelve sticks are (functionally) identical, seated properly, and operational/functional. (i.e. insert stick one; power on; power off; insert stick two; power on; power off....) Once you have ruled out hardware, move on to configuration: Configure the sticks; boot to BIOS : select memory settings : and Node Interleaving ... Source https://www.dell.com/community/PowerEdge-Hardware-General/PowerEdgge-T610-Memory-Upgrade-Configuration-16GB-quad-rank-ECC/td-p/4624341 Good Luck! --------------------------------------------- I had a problem develop on a mother board where 2 channels of of memory went AWOL. I tried switching around the chips -- same channels showed error indicating, I though, the connectors on the mother board. Got new motherboard installed memory. Now instead of using 6-channels of 16GB each, (had 192G before all this started with 2 cpus@6cores each) Now have 128G in ECC mode (the 128G mode was for memory mirroring). I have memory set not to interleave, as I wanted the kernel to handle scheduling of the nodes as NUMA nodes. But now...I'm not sure how to get my memory back to non-mirrored mode. I don't see an entry in the BIOS. Any ideas? Thanks and let me know if I left info out.
