Hi,
Thanks to Clifford for suggesting this...

I'm still at the same point though... not IP communication between the 2 PC's
I have tried using a chat script that *does not* authenticate to the PPP server and
just
starts PPP after "CONNECT". This I had hoped would make the server can client behave
-
- because a real Win95 client works. The server reports the login as /AutoPPP/, but
*still*
I get ppp0 in both ifconfigs, but any pings that go across end up as RX errors on the
"recipient".
And more ideas anyone? If RX errors are frame errors, what other than line speed and
flow
control can cause them? - as per Clifford's suggestions these have both been checked.
I'm curious to hear whether there is a PPP compile time directive that makes it
*require*
authentication - I've used the noauth option on the server to try to assume that out
of the
way.
Any more pointes, help even hair restorer would be appreciated (:
PS: Has anyone managed to get a linux client dialling into a linux server? If so
would you
be willing to share your secrets with me?
