There has been some discussion on the list recently about 2.2.9 support.
The last I recall reading was that some reported problems and some didn't.
It's your call.  If you are conservative, hold off on 2.2.9.

This was discussed on the list when RH5.2 was released, and RedHat joined
in.  I believe some desire was expressed that RH adopt the 0.90 alpha
release, since it was a big improvement over 0.5 and was actually more
reliable with the new features and bug fixes.
