I just bought a few more dual PII-350 systems with Tyan 1832DL motherboards.
Total cost for board + 2 processors was $705. That's not a whole lot more
than a dual PPro-200 system and finding Ppro's is becoming harder and
harder. I'd be tickled if AMD could come up with a more cost effective
solution, but $700 just isn't a lot of money. By the time AMD has
product available, I'm sure the price bar will be even lower and make
it even more difficult to undercut Intel. That said, I think a good
dose of competition is healthy. If it wasn't for AMD, we'd all still
be paying $800 for Pentium 166's. 8-)
