Hi,
Thanks; booting "noapic" took the Ethernet off IRQ 16 and put it onto
IRQ 11. Unfortunately, the port is still silent and so I'm now
thinking that the thing needs to be enabled somehow. I'll try setting
the "Wake On LAN" option in the BIOS, just to see if it makes any
difference. ("Wake On LAN" *must* be able to turn the port on, surely,
by definition!)

As a matter of interest (anybody), what exactly is the bootup error
message saying? Is it just that Linux isn't recognising the APIC and
needs a little eductation, or is there something deeper? Obviously I
would like to boot this board with APICs enabled eventually. Are there
any further tests I can run, or any extra data which I can dig up?

Cheers,
Chris
