Hi.

I'm wondering if somebody could help me access my Colorado T3000
tape drive. Yes, I've read the FAQ, and the HOWTO, and a few other
documents, but they don't help any. I'm running RedHat 5.1 with kernel
2.0.36-3 stock (from the rpm, not compiled). I downloaded Ftape 4.02 and
compiled it with CONFIG_M386=y, and with CONFIG_MODVERSIONS commented out.
I originally had the drive attaced to an FC-20 controller, but that didn't
work, so I have it on the floppy controoler, now. For the most part, I
keep getting either

tar: Cannot open /dev/ftape: Operation not supported by device
or
tar: Cannot open /dev/rft0: Device not configured

whenever I try any tar function to /dev/ftape , or any of the rewinding or
non-rewinding devices. Sometimes I get that "unresolved symbols" error
when loading zftape. The directory /proc/ftape does exist, and lsmod
shows

zftape 19 0
ftape 34 [zftape] 0

I'm at a loss as to what to try next. I would appreciate any help
at getting this thing working, as I have yet to make a single backup in
the two-plus months I've been running Linux, and would like to do so
before making any major changes. Thanks...
