Hello, I'd like to ask people what there preffered backup program/app is
under Linux.

I have a Exabyte 8mm, 2gb drive in one of my linux boxes at home. I'd like to
use it do backups of my systems here. I have 2 intel boxes running linux
and one sparc, they are all connected via 10mb ethernet.
The machine with the tape drive in is running redhat 5.2 with 2.0.35 kernel.
I'd like to backup /home /usr/local /var /root /etc on each machine maybe
a full backup each month and incremental each week or so?

What do you recommend I use, is there anything freely available like bru which
performs a verify of the archive once it has done.

I'd also like to integrate this into a rescue type boot floppy so I can
get my systems back online quickly should the worst happen.

Thanks in advance,
Mike
