Hello,

- I didn't overcome the problem, that on backing up only 200 MB bru wanted me to
insert a second tape, although I used tapes of 2.5 GB and I told
this to bru. Of course I tried various settings; the tapes I used were empty.
Just pressing "return" without inserting a second tape provoked much more
trouble (consequently - indeed);
- the graphical user interface didn't store all the entries I typed in;
it was necessary to edit brutab manually by vi; actually, this didn't mean
any problem to me.
- I tried bru only under redhat 5.1; it was the personal edition shipped with
this distribution; I don't remember glibc under 5.1.
- at that time I tried to use bru
I had only ditto max external; in the meantime this has changed -
now I use Tandberg NS 20 Pro, an SCSI-streamer. Additionally I upgraded to
redhat 5.2 and kernel 2.2.x. I don't know if there have been released any
patches - but in fact, I don't mind, because a much more easy and fast
solution to me was giving up on fiddling around with bru and instead using
afio in the end. Now this has been working every day automatically and
successfully for several months; from time to time I perform a restore
and check it via diff -r - and I'm really happy with this solution.

Well, I know, this is not of any help for you, because I don't have
any further information; I achieved my own aim: Setting up a reliable
backup system - but not with bru; so, of course, I didn't reinstall BRU after
having upgraded to redhat 5.2 and so don't have those logs / files you want to
have.
