With my ditto 2GB, which is connected to a ditto dash too, I made
the experience that the tape does not like to take the tape out
before the drive is really ready. Then the only possibility to
get the drive in a clean state is to make a hard reset of the
drive itself. To achieve this it needs a power down on the drive,
a reset to the PC is not enough. Maybe you have the possibility
to reset the drive alone, maybe you need to shut Linux down,
power the machine off and switch it on again.
