Just as a data point ...

Note that you want the *unstable* version with 2.2.x kernels
... some structures (notably timeout) in the kernel changed,
meaning that the current stable 4.x versions will not compile.
Despite the name the unstable versio�ns seem very stable, from
what I hear.
It also seems they won't compile with 2.3.x kernels, but that
is based on one single report at the moment.
